On an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit) anchored in the Botlek area of Rotterdam, visual, magnetic, and ultrasonic inspections were carried out by our certified inspectors over a 3-week period.
Since the FPSO was being converted for a new offshore project, all critical weld seams in the oil storage tanks had to be inspected for cracks. Additionally, a team of 3 technicians performed ultrasonic wall thickness measurements on the piping system above deck.
Climbing inside the oil tanks was particularly time-consuming and dirty work. Once again, the client was very satisfied with our safe working methods, especially since another rope access company had declined to take on the tasks inside the oil tanks.
