To establish the integrity of a large steelstructure of a powerplant, Rope Access Group BV has inspected for 2 weeks with a 4 man team.
The goal of the inspection was to get impression of the quantity of corrosion. Because it is a very large structure and inspections had to be carried out on many different spots and levels, rope access inspection was the best, safest and fastest solution.
Access with ropes and the visual inspections are just one side of the activities. It is as important to report all severely corroded spots on supports and brackets. In this way in a later stage every reported spot can be easily found again. An inspectionjob is nothing without proper reporting.
During the inspection we also repaired isolation on pipes on other places in the plant. This is a very major advantage of rope access concerning flexibility!
